HOT CROSS BUNS RECIPE

INGREDIENTS

4 cups of flour
1 cup, lukewarm milk
1 cup raisins
1cup castor sugar

2 tbs Cinnamon powder
2 eggs
100ml butter, melted
10g yeast
1 tsp salt

For the cross:

½ cup self-raising flour
125ml milk.

PROCEDURE

Pre heat oven to 180 degrees celsius.

Combine the yeast, sugar and milk.

Stir cover and set aside for 5-10 minutes.

Sift the flour, salt add in cinnamon and raisins, pour in melted butter and eggs, pour the yeast mixture.

Knead the dough for about 10 minutes or until mixed well.

Cover and place in a warm spot for an hour or until double in size.

Press the dough flat then knead again, break the dough into tennis balls sizes and place in the baking tray.

Mix the self raising flour with milk then place in a piping bag.

Pipe across the buns then bake in a pre heated oven for 30-40minutes.
